Organisation User Agreement

This agreement sets out how registered charities and other approved not-for-profit organisations (“you”, “your”) use the Waytego platform to connect with potential volunteers.

Waytego Ltd (“Waytego”, “we”, “us”) operates the platform at https://waytego.com.

1. Purpose of the Platform

Waytego helps match individuals who want to volunteer with organisations offering genuine, unpaid volunteering opportunities.

Our role is limited to introductions only — we do not recruit, supply or manage volunteers and we are not an employment agency or employment business.

2. Eligibility

To list opportunities, you must be a:

  • UK registered charity, CIO, CIC, or other recognised not-for-profit organisation with a clear social purpose; and
  • legally permitted to accept volunteers.

We may ask for evidence of your charitable or not-for-profit status before publishing listings.

3. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • ensuring each role is a genuine volunteer position with no payment other than reasonable expenses
  • confirming the volunteer's identity, age and right to volunteer in the UK
  • carrying out references, DBS or other checks where needed
  • maintaining appropriate insurance (public liability, personal accident, etc.)
  • complying with health & safety, safeguarding, equality and data-protection laws
  • providing clear role descriptions, training, and supervision
  • handling any complaints, disputes or grievances relating to volunteers
  • all other matters relating to the interaction between the volunteer and you, and the volunteer opportunity

You agree that any contact or engagement with a volunteer is entirely your own relationship with them.

4. Data Protection

Waytego is the controller of platform data; you are a separate controller of any volunteer data you receive directly.

You must handle personal data in line with the UK GDPR and your own privacy notice.

Waytego may forward a minimal introduction email when a volunteer expresses interest. You are a separate controller of any personal data you receive directly from volunteers or via these introductions. You must use it only to evaluate the opportunity and in line with UK GDPR and your privacy notice.

If you misuse personal data obtained through the platform, we may suspend or remove your listings immediately.

5. Safeguarding

You must have appropriate safeguarding policies in place and follow them for every volunteer role.

If a safeguarding issue arises, you must take prompt action and notify relevant authorities.

Waytego may suspend or remove listings if we become aware of a credible safeguarding concern.

6. Platform Use

You must only post accurate, lawful and up-to-date information.

You must not use the platform for paid recruitment or commercial gain.

Waytego may edit or remove listings that breach these terms, appear misleading or unsafe, or damage our reputation.

7. Liability

Nothing in this agreement limits or excludes either party's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be limited by law.

Otherwise, Waytego is not responsible for:

  • any act or omission of a volunteer
  • loss, injury or damage arising during volunteering
  • indirect or consequential loss

Our total liability for any loss arising from your use of the platform is capped at £100 in aggregate.

8. Termination and Changes

Either party may end this agreement at any time by written notice or by removing listings.

Waytego may update these terms with 30 days notice. Continued use after that means acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by English law, and the English courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

By listing opportunities on the Waytego platform, you confirm that you accept these terms and will comply with all relevant laws and best practices for volunteers' safety and wellbeing.
